It’s Homecoming Week in our office, which is a pretty big deal! Throughout this week we’re going to highlight one event each day, providing a bit more detail for those who may not have attended previous events.
Today’s highlighted event is the Front Entrance Unveiling – a new and unique event for 2010. As many of you know, the primary entrance to Mercyhurst on East 38th St. underwent construction this summer to restore the entrance to its original grandeur. As part of this project, alumni and friends of the college were offered the opportunity to purchase a brick, tree, lamppost, or bench with the option of their name being affixed to the item they purchased. (It’s not too late to purchase an item – read more here!) The Front Entrance Unveiling serves as an opportunity for the Office of Advancement to thank those who have contributed, and a chance for these donors to see their purchases first hand.
All alumni are welcome to this reception which begins at 7 p.m. with the official dedication and unveiling of the “new” front entrance. There will be comments from Mercyhurst President, Thomas J. Gamble, Ph.D., and Vice President for Advancement, David Livingston, Ph.D., followed by a reception featuring beer, wine, and appetizers.
