Senior Class Gift Update

The members of the Class of 2011 Senior Class Gift Steering Committee continue to impress as they strive toward their fundraising and participation goals. Their actual gift – a seating area located outside of Hirt Academic Center and Zurn Hall – has broken ground and hopes to be completed by commencement. Unfortunately the construction is at the mercy of Mother Nature, and as such, rainy days certainly do not help the progress. As you will see in the second photo below, the four foot deep holes dug for the foundation are filled with water – not a good sign! With a few dry and warm days, however, the building team is optimistic that the project will be completed near commencement weekend.

The first image below is the architectural rendering of the seating area, followed by an image of the project’s currents status.
