Today is the second in a series of posts detailing events that are part of Homecoming & Family Weekend 2011. We’re going to start with new events, today’s feature: Mercyhurst Traditions Exhibit!
This year’s Homecoming theme centers around reliving Mercyhurst traditions, so we figured an exhibit to demonstrate some of these traditions would be a great addition! Throughout the course of the weekend, there will be a display of Mercyhurst history in the Mercy Heritage Room located in Sullivan Hall. Featured there will be photographs, yearbooks, athletic memorabilia, and more from the Mercyhurst Archival Center. This is a great opportunity to see items from years past at Mercyhurst, and gain a greater apprecation for those who came before us. Whether you graduated 50 years ago or just one, this is an exhibit you don’t want to miss! The exhibit is available 3:30 to 6 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Perhaps the highlight of the exhibit will be a brief discussion on Mercyhurst history by Dr. Roy Strausbaugh, a professor of history who is also writing a book on the history of Mercyhurst. Dr. Strausbaugh will share some of his key findings from his research regarding the great history of Mercyhurst.
Registration is NOT required to visit the exhibit or to attend the discussion – but click here to be taken to registration for the rest of the great Homecoming events!
