Road Trip: Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh Alumni

Mercyhurst alumni from the 2000's gather at last night's event in Pittsburgh.

Last night a few members of the alumni relations staff made the trek down I-79 and hosted an event in downtown Pittsburgh for alumni and prospective students in the Pittsburgh area. The event was held at Jerome Bettis Grille 36, a local favorite establishment which served as a perfect venue. Little did we know when we selected the location two months ago that the very night we host an event the Pittsburgh Penguins would be hosting a first-round playoff game! Needless to say, the fact that the venue had many TVs was a definite bonus we never originally considered!

The event was well-attended and boasted a wide variety of years and academic programs represented by alumni. There were several alumni from the 1960′s, and yet quite a few from the 2000′s! In addition, we also welcomed a dozen prospective students who are contemplating enrollment at Mercyhurst this fall. We hope some good food and drink coupled with one-on-one time with our spectacular admissions counselors helped seal the deal last night. Also in attendance were two members of our Alumni Association Board of Directors: Mary McKenna ’90 and Ryan Kennis ’99.

In just a little bit we’re heading back on the highway, this time westward to Cleveland, Ohio. We’re gathering at the Corner Alley in downtown, and again expect a great mix of class years and look forward to another dozen or so prospective students that we hope will make the right choice for school this fall!

Many thanks to all who are coming out to see us! Be sure to check out our Facebook page for photos, and follow us on Twitter for more updates!
